September & October working for Electoral Commission in the Rongotai electorate as advance Voting Issuing Officer & Vote Issuing Officer on Election day at Kilbirnie Mosque & in Miramar.
Also Official Count Counter post-Election for Rongotai electorate for Party voting End of Life Choice and cannabis referendums
2001- Teaching CAD to local students in East Timor
Whilst in East Timor with the UN I also taught local East Timorese Engineering students CAD. The students could not access the university of West Timor due to the Independence referendum. They were very keen to get experience and training & the World Bank supported their NGO (Non-Government Organisation) by donating computers.
1997-1999 International Volunteers Day Committee organiser
As part of International Volunteers Day (5th December) we organised for aid volunteers in Cambodia to help improve orphanage site and buildings doing cleaning, painting repair work and other support on the day.
The committee was organising work groups, donations for materials and also completing outstanding work after the actual event.
I was part of the committee for the events in December 1997 & 1998.
We worked on one orphanage in the centre of Phom Penh & on another about 20km out of the city.
1988 to 1992 – Owner/Manager of Albany Lodge Conference Centre, Auckland, NZ.
General management of the facilities for conferences and functions, responsible for marketing, sales, administration and operation.
1987 January to December – Warden of Victoria House, University Hall of Residence, VUW.
Responsible for the management of the hall, and for the health and welfare of the 157 residents from 21 different countries.
1984 to 1985 – Deputy Warden of Weir House, University Hall of Residence, VUW
Responsible for the physical security of the hall, and the residents on weekends and evenings. Being “on call” for any after hour emergencies and caring for the general health and welfare of the residents.
